Glassbeads

Beads are probably the first objects made from humans out of crystal. In Syria and Mesopotamia beads have been found from 4000 B.C.
To make our handmade lampworked beads we use
a torch driven by oxygen and propane. Lampworking is the process of shaping hot glass using a torch.
Our glass beads are made out of high quality American, Italian or German glass, like Murano glass, also known as Effetre or Moretti, and also Vetrofond or Lauscha glass.

All the glass used in our designs are annealed
in a kiln for added durability. This means that
when the beads are finished they have to be put
in the annealing kiln at 440º-500º C for a minimum of
two hours. This is the annealing temperature range
for Effetre glass, these removes all the internal
stresses so the glass will not crack later.
Each bead is made one at a time.
